living phenomenally.

"A woman who is convinced that she deserves to accept only the best, challenges herself to give the best. Then she is living phenomenally. "
-Maya Angelou

One of my life goals... to live phenomenally EVERYDAY.
I'm working on it!

And You Are?

A wonderful storyteller by the name of C. W. Metcalf shared a story about a man in the airport who was verbally abusing an airline ticketing agent. The traveler had missed his flight due to mechanical difficulties and was being loud, demonstrative, and mean to the poor ticketing agent, who obviously had no control over the plane's condition. C. W. went up to the abusive man and asked, "Can I have your autograph?" When the man, puzzled and confused, asked, "Why do you want my autograph?" C. W. responded, "Because I've never met the center of the universe before!"

As Holiday season is now in full force, stop and think about how you treat others around you. Not only those people who are close to you, but those you have NEVER MET BEFORE.
(The person ringing up your purchase, the person taking your order, giving you your coffee, delivering your package, calling your number by accident at 3 am, cutting you off in traffic, passing you on the street, etc.)

So, remember that no matter how much money we have or how much money we are spending this holiday season at our favorite places...

WE ARE NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!

Iraq in "Civil War"??

The politically charged use of the term "civil war" to describe the violence in Iraq came to a head Monday when NBC News said that the conflict fit its description of a civil war and that NBC would call it that.

Tomorrow will worry about itself...

Wow... have these past 2 weeks been wearing me out emotionally, physically, and spritually. I can not remember the last time my life has been this hectic and chaotic. Peace of mind is often too far for me to see!! I even stress in my dreams! haha If it's not work, it's studying, or friends, or family, or relationship challenges.....

But... these verses from Matthew 6 help me to remember that God is taking care of me and I should trust that he will make everything work out for the best.

Matthew 6:25-34

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

See's Candy+ Jesus= A date for Saturday Night??

So Today I got picked up on, by a guy around my age, who was selling See's Candy bars outside a clothing store.... (nothing out of the ordinary you say... wait it gets better....)

I was more then willing to donate my $2 for his church program... after donating my money I continued to talk to him about his "church" and was happy to find out that he was Christian! I was happy to share my love for God with my brother in Christ... that was until something smelled a lil Fishy.

When I would ask out of intrest where his church was ... or what programs did the candy support... he couldn't answer me!

Turns out that he sells candy and says that he is from a church to pick up "Beautiful girls like me"! ha! Can you believe that?! Now that is an original and LAME as it can get!!

I wish someone could have taken a picture of my face ... I'm sure it would have looked like the definition of CONFUSION!! haha

He proceeded to tell me that this is how he gets to ask out all of the "Good Church Girls" that are "So hard" to find "in normal circumstances" .... At this point I kindly decline his request for a date, recieve my candy bar, chuckle and tell him "God Bless" .... Chuckling in disbelief as I get into my car, the following problem comes to mind...

See's Candy Bar+ Jesus= a date for Saturday night

Let's just say that I am SO HAPPY they keep THIS problem out of school textbooks! hahaha

Dude, I got ripped of $2!!! hahaha Oh well... at least I got a blog out of it! hahaha

Text Me....

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singaporean student broke the Guinness World Record for the shortest time needed to type a 160-character SMS message on Sunday after whizzing through the task in less than 42 seconds in a competition

Are You serious?!
42 Seconds?!?
Are we becoming a BIT TOO COMFORTABLE with our use of cell phones today?
Come on .... think about it....
How often do we whip out our phone to text message instead of ACTUALLY CALLING THE PERSON!!!
I know I am guilty!! hahaha
But to put things in perspective ...
Is it really faster to sit there and push a numerous amount of keys to produce a message, then push send, AND THEN, have to wait for a reply
then it is to....
Look up their number and push talk?

I think not!

This takes away from the wonderful gift of ACTUAL CONVERSATION... without the breaks in between of the sending and recieving alerts from your phone! hahaha

Should we as a culture try to PRESERVE human voice conversation for as long as possible??????
Probably.

Do I think we will???
Let's just say, that I have to log off right now and send a text about my meeting tomorrow.....

Come on?!! Did you really think I was gonna CALL them?!!!
It's 11:52 pm! That's way too Late!!! hahaha
